Show single image in an article

Hello all.

I am trying to place a single image in an article. I'm using this syntax but it is not working:

{gallery}single=paracord.jpg{/gallery}

In the parameters of the plug in my Root Directory is set to NO. All of my images are in /images and I think this is correct.
i see this when I view the page:

Warning: No images in specified directory. Please check the directoy!
Debug: specified directory - mywebsite.com/images/single=paracord.jpg

I promise you, that file is located in that directory. Can you help me? Thank you very much. Joe.
