Special Characters in gallery descriptions.

Hi There,

I'm using the SIGE gallery to display pics on my site, but when I place words with Spanish or Purtuguese
specific characters like Valparaíso I get Valpara�so.

Is there a way of getting SIGE to translate as I have a trave site and there are many of these, also in
English the postraphe like in "isn't" doesn't show properly either, must ne the same problem.
