Backup hangs and never completes

Hi Viktor:
I'm trying to back up one of my sites and it seems to not be working properly.

The backup just hangs... for a long time... and the site is not that large at all.

Here's what I have done so far:
- Uninstalled the component and then reinstalled it and that doesn't seem to make a difference.
- Cleared my cache in Joomla
- Checked via FTP if there were any large files in the directory and there are none.
- Checked size of site - it's less than 500 MB

THEN I logged in via FTP to see if the backups were successful by going to administrator>components>easyjoomlabackup>backups
see attached screenshot for what was there.
I downloaded one of the zip file and tried to extract it but it doesn't extract - it extracts to another zip

This site is on the same server as all of our others and it IS running PHP 7.2

I don't know what else to do or to check.
