Problem with VCNT counter

I installed the VCNT for Joomla1.5 .
The counter seems working.
Nevertheless, I wonder if the counter works right.
This morning the online counter (on the first page) tells me 5 users
connected.
One hour later, I looked at the VCNT counter. It indicated only 1 connection
for the day.
There may be some user connections lost ?
Perhaps, the configuration is not the right one.
