Increasing Technical Requirements 2026 - Core & PHP for Joomla! Pro Extensions

Hey Pro users,

Starting in 2026, I will update the required Joomla! and PHP versions for newly released paid extensions.

Joomla! 6

In 2026, I will not change the minimum technical requirements for Joomla! 6. They are still up-to-date and do not require an update.

Joomla! Core Version >= 6.0 (latest 6.x version recommended)
PHP Version >= 8.3 (latest 8.x version recommended)


Joomla! 5

In 2026, the technical requirements for the Joomla! version will increase to version 5.4, but the minimum PHP version will stay at 8.3 (the recommended PHP version by the Joomla! project for Joomla! 5.x).

Joomla! Core Version >= 5.4 (latest 5.x version recommended)
PHP Version >= 8.3 (latest 8.x version recommended)


Joomla! 4

Joomla! 4 reached EOL (End of Life) officially on 14th October 2025. All my Joomla! 4 extensions will no longer be updated or supported. You may still download and use them, but they do not come with a functional guarantee or support. Please consider upgrading to Joomla! 6 if you want to use the latest supported versions of my extensions!

Don't worry! You cannot break your site if the requirements are unmet and you trigger the installation/update process. All packages run a pre-installation check, and installation is stopped if the versions are too low.

Suppose you cannot update Joomla! or/and PHP for any reason, then please stay with the already-installed instances or use an older version I released before 2026.

However, I recommend using the latest versions for performance and security reasons anyway!
