Counter is not counting

Since at least yesterday I have noted my counter isn't registering my visitors.

Who's-on-line shows I have reeived various visitors including members but VCNT doesn't show anything above 0.

I have my servers timezone correctly established. It ocurred to me about a week ago when just after 24 hrs Am I had the same amount of visitors as just before 24 hrs.

I disabled the Powered by Kubik-Rubik link to hide as many Joomla related elements from the view of malicious people. Could this be the cause?

I have enabled it again but I still have 2 visitors online that the VCNT module doesn't count after about 30 minutes.
