Why doesn't gallery-tag work in User2?

Hi there

First of all: Love this very simple yet usefull plug-in. It really does the trick.
Im quite new to working with joomla and therefore I don't know all the tricks.

I have installed the plug-in, created the folder "bilder09" in the images/stories folder. There I have stored 6 pictures, set all the values in the plug-in parametres, and copied the gallery tag to an article viewed in the content area. This works the treat!

In my layout I wanted to place the gallery thumbs in the footer, but as you can se, only the tag is showing! I just don't get it.
I have tried setting "Starting from the root directory" to "yes" and have placed all six pictures in the root folder. Not working
What im I doing wrong?
